What types of HVAC projects are supported?

Symbium supports partial and full HVAC system replacements across three system types:

  • Split systems
  • Mini-split systems, and
  • Packaged units.

This includes furnace-only, cooling-only, and ductwork-only projects as well. Use the System type and Replacement details sections to specify exactly what is being replaced. Symbium confirms the scope and required permits based on your inputs.

 

Furnace-only replacement

If you are replacing only the furnace with no changes to the cooling system:

  1. Under System type, select Split system.
  2. Under Cooling unit, select No cooling unit.
  3. Under Heating unit, select Furnace.
  4. Under Replacement details, set Is this a full system replacement? to No and select the components being replaced.

A/C condenser-only replacement

If you are replacing only the air conditioning condenser with no changes to the heating system:

  1. Under System type, select Split system.
  2. Under Cooling unit, select Air conditioner (condenser only).
  3. Under Heating unit, select No heating unit.
  4. Under Replacement details, set Is this a full system replacement? to No and select the components being replaced.

Ductwork-only replacement

If you are replacing or adding ductwork only with no changes to the heating or cooling equipment:

  1. Under System type, select the applicable system type.
  2. Under Ducting, select the amount of new or replacement ductwork being installed.
  3. Under Replacement details, set Is this a full system replacement? to No and do not select any components.

After completing your inputs, verify the scope shown on the Permit Application tab to confirm your project has been captured as a ductwork-only replacement.
