Battery expansion packs are supported in Symbium's rooftop solar and battery storage workflow. An expansion pack adds capacity to an existing battery system without a new inverter; the existing inverter handles both the primary battery and the expansion pack.
Adding an expansion pack to an existing battery system
If you are adding an expansion pack to a battery system that is already installed, specify it as follows:
- ESS 1 – specify the primary battery system and mark it as existing equipment.
- ESS 2 – specify the expansion pack as new equipment.
- Inverter – indicate that the inverter is paired with new equipment. See this article for details on how to configure the inverter entry.
Adding an expansion pack alongside a new primary battery
If you are installing a new primary battery and an expansion pack at the same time, specify it as follows:
- ESS 1 – specify the primary battery system and mark it as new equipment.
- ESS 2 – specify the expansion pack as new equipment.
- Inverter – indicate that the inverter is paired with new equipment. See this article for details on how to configure the inverter entry.
